NefMoto VW Audi ME7 ECU Flasher is a free Windows utility that lets enthusiasts and technicians read and write Bosch ME7.x engine control unit firmware through the vehicle’s OBD-II port. Commonly used on many VW and Audi models from the late 1990s to mid-2000s, it communicates over K-Line (KWP2000) and removes the need for expensive bench programmers when updating or backing up ECU flash memory.

Key points:

  • Supports Bosch ME7.1, ME7.1.1, and ME7.5 ECUs used in popular VW/Audi platforms (e.g., 1.8T, 2.7T, 4.2 V8).
  • Performs full and partial (calibration) flash reads/writes with verification and logging.
  • Works with widely available FTDI-based KKL/OBD interfaces via the OBD-II port.
  • Focuses on safe, reliable flashing; it does not perform tuning or checksum correction—use external tools to prepare checksum-corrected files.
  • Windows PC required; a stable 12 V supply or battery charger is strongly recommended during flashing.

Limitations and notes:

  • Not intended for newer CAN-based ECUs (e.g., MED9/MED17) or immobilizer/EEPROM work.
  • Modifying ECU software can damage components if done improperly and may be illegal for on-road use in some regions. Use responsibly and comply with local laws.

NefMoto VW Audi ME7 ECU Flasher is developed by Nefarious Motorsports Inc. The most popular version of this product among our users is 1.0. The name of the program executable file is ECUFlasherHost.exe.
